Full-Time Welding

Due to continued expansion and success of the company, we are currently looking for a structural steel fabricator/welder who is experienced in all aspects of heavy fabrication work.
Key Responsibilities include:
*Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
*Monitor the fitting, cutting & welding process to avoid the overheating of parts to avoid warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of materials.
*Examine new & existing assemblies for defects using straight edges, templates & CMM to ensure conformance with specifications.
*Layout, position, align & secure assemblies prior to welding, check using straight edges, templates, combination squares, callipers & rulers.
*Report any defects immediately to the Welding Engineering Manager.
*Ensure that assigned work is understood prior to commencing the task.
*Comply with all standards & procedures set out by the company to include Health & Safety policy & occupational health & safety regulations.
*Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or in the project area on a daily basis &/or when required.
*Complete all work assigned in the time frame allotted & in accordance with specifications.
*Undertake replacement of worn parts either as required or on a regular replacement cycle.
*When and where necessary work above (at height using appropriate apparatus) or below ground including machine pits.
*Use conventional workshop hand tools, metal working machinery and welding apparatus as required to repair equipment and machinery etc.
*Accurate and timely completion of documentation to comply with all necessary Quality Standards and production requirements.
*Work as part of any team and actively take part in team activities including Continuous Improvement Programmes.
Undertake additional training to develop skills as company requires.
*To work in accordance with organisational policies and practices.
*To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate as necessary in corporate initiatives and projects.
